According to the Apple Developer website, content blockers “indicate to Safari a set of rules to use to block content in the browser window. Blocking behaviors include hiding elements, blocking loads, and stripping cookies from Safari requests. ” If privacy is a concern for you (I’m guessing its why you’re here in the first place) then this option is a great way to increase your data privacy. Content blockers have the ability to limit social media ads, cookies and thus limiting exposure to your data. These tools can be applied to phone and desktop browsers.
AdGuardPro – Available for Phones and Desktop Browsers. Set up is not too complex, however, I did have to reference AdGuard’s manuals to set up custom filtering. If you are new to content blockers, have no fear! The app/extension comes with predefined filters so all you have to do is enable them.
Iphone Set-Up:
After you have successfully purchased a subscription or signed up for a service, download the app from the Apple App Store. Sign in using your new credentials and ensure that the content blockers are enabled by navigating to Settings -> Safari -> Content Blockers. You will see a bar to enable or disable each filter.
